Sam Houston Tollway, Houston, Texas - General Engineering Consultant for this 27-mile, $500 million project. The firm's responsibilities included complete preliminary design for the entire roadway, criteria development for the detailed design of individual sections, and final design of lighting, signage, toll collection facilities and the complete design of $70 million U.S. 290/Tollway Interchange.

Quitman Station and Rail Section, Metropolitan Transit Authority, Houston, Texas - Preliminary design of a $115 million station and line section including a tunnel under Buffalo Bayou and a one-mile elevated section.
Street and Utility Relocations, Downtown Houston - Civil engineering for reconstruction of city streets and utilities in a downtown 26-square-block area in conjunction with the George R. Brown Convention Center project. We also prepared an extensive traffic study.

Superconducting Super Collider Land Use Master Plan, Waxahachie, Texas - Responsible for infrastructure master plan as member of the team preparing a land use plan for the Texas National Research Laboratory Commission. The utility master plan includes storm and sanitary sewers, electrical and gas distribution, flood control, stormwater drainage, and communication network.

Keegans Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant, City of Houston, Texas - Preliminary planning and design for a new 45 MGD plant serving over 16,000 acres in southwest Houston, and final design for the $30 million Phase I and II construction program. In addition to state-of-the-art equipment for sludge processing, the plant has an advanced electronic process control system.
WCID III Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion, City of Houston, Texas - Design of two phased expansions to this 2.4 MGD plant, the first to 6.0 MGD and the second to 9 MGD. Key facilities were designed for easy expansion to 18 MGD.
Our engineers are knowledgeable in the use of HEC-1 and HEC-2 computer programs to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, prepare flood control maps and determine the most efficient solutions to drainage problems.
George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas
Smith Road Wastewater Interceptor and Pumping Facility, City of Houston, Texas - Design of over 20,000 feet of large diameter sewers in an area near the Houston Intercontinental Airport. Pipes, ranging in size from 48 inches to 84 inches, will be installed at depths of up to 35 feet using tunneling methods.

Airports
Dallas/Fort Worth Inter-national Airport, Texas -Multi-discipline engineering services for the DFW International Airport's major terminal renovation program. The firm has completed several large projects and a variety of tasks under a three-year agreement. Projects include site development for the new 60-acre Terminal 0W, covering drainage, pavement design, parking plan, lighting and site utilities. Two flyover bridges were designed for access from International Parkway to the new $20 million terminal.
Rehabilitation of Runway 13L/31R, Airport Paving, Taxiway B and Love Field, City of Dallas, Texas - Repair and replacement of a 1,500-foot section of Taxiway B at Love Field. The project includes investigation of a concrete cracking problem, modifications to the 14-inch subbase, and replacement of the 13-inch concrete slab. The taxiway remained in full operation during the investigation phase. For Runway 13L/31R, 7,800 feet of main runway was reconstructed.
Airport Master Plan, City of Eagle Pass, Texas - Preparation of a master plan for a proposed municipal airport. The plan included an inventory of existing aviation facilities in the Maverick County area.
Savannah International Airport, Savannah, Georgia - Complete A/E design for a new technically futuristic, highly functional airport terminal located on the northwest quadrant of the airport site offering improved convenience to a number of growing urban centers and major resort area. The $38 million project includes terminal sitework, enplaning and deplaning roadways, parking and rental car facilities, ground transportation area, utilities, equipment support areas, and landscaping.
Woodcreek Park, New Town, Texas - Engineering design for a 176-acre commercial office park development. We prepared plans for site work within the complex, including internal utilities, parking lots, lake spillways, and survey control. The firm also acted as liaison to user groups.
The Woodlands - Our firm serves as Coordinating Consulting Engineer on an on-going basis for this 25,000-acre development. Recently, BJY provided complete civil engineering services for planning and design of the 800-acre Trade Center; 664-acre Metro Center commercial park; and a 1,920-acre sub-division.

Water System Master Plan, City of McAllen, Texas - Comprehensive engineering study of the city's water system and development of $21 million plan of continuous improvement through the year 2005.
Surface Water Treatment Plant, ARCO Chemical Company, Channelview, Texas - 30 MGD surface water treatment plant, three miles of 60-inch transmission pipeline, a 44-million-gallon raw water storage reservoir, and a remote-controlled pump station transferring water from Houston's west canal to the plant.
The firm has designed water production and supply systems for over 20 utility districts in Southeast Texas.
Computer Control System for Water Distribution, City of Houston, Texas - Design of a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system that monitors and controls the city's potable water system.

Greens Bayou Master Plan, Harris County Flood Control District, Houston, Texas - Comprehensive study to develop a flood control strategy for the entire 200-square-mile watershed.
Southwyck Subdivision, General Homes Corporation, Houston, Texas - Design of 1,600-acre mixed-use sub-division included the hydrologic and hydraulic design of 28,900 feet of linear flood control structures to prevent flooding from a 100-year storm event.

George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas - Structural and civil engineering for the $105 million convention center housing over 500,000 square feet of exhibition space. The firm's responsibilities included preliminary planning and construction plans and specifications for the award-winning building structure, elevated truck ramps and the reconstruction of city streets and utilities in the 26-square-block area. An extensive traffic study was performed in conjunction with the reconstruction and relocation of the city streets and utilities. |
